Finland-based popular tech brand Nokia is quite popular among consumers for their rugged devices. These products also have considerable demand among certain types of buyers. Now Nokia has launched two new rugged devices to expand its catalog. These include the Nokia XR20 Industrial Edition smartphone and the Nokia Industrial 5G field router. The Nokia XR20 Industrial Edition is essentially an upgraded version of the Nokia XR20 rugged smartphone, which was launched in July last year by HMD Global, a licensee of Nokia.

The new Nokia XR20 Industrial Edition smartphone is also manufactured by HMD Global and comes with several topnotch features specially designed to ensure that it fulfills all the requirements of a robust smartphone. Besides, the phone has also received relevant certifications like ATEX, IECEx, NEC500 and UL.
Incidentally, the certifications not only indicate the smartphone's usability in outdoor environments or under the elements, they also demonstrate that the device can be used in places where flammable chemicals are used and explosions are possible. So apart from workers, the smartphone is suitable for use by people working in remote oil drilling platforms, chemical processing plants, dusty mines or any other hazardous area. Employees can communicate using push-to-talk and video with apps like Nokia Team Comms or Group Communication on their XR20 devices.
On the other hand, Nokia's new Industrial 5G field router solves connectivity issues associated with older industrial equipment and private wireless network access. It can be deployed in complex environments such as mines, ports and factories. The company is yet to reveal the price and availability of the Nokia XR20 5G Industrial Edition. However, the device may only be sold in select markets.
